Fall Class Schedule Changes

NEW! Beginners II (continued...) Thursdays 5:30 - 8:30 pm

Great for students who have completed the first beginner series, and want to continue painting beyond in a more novice environment.

*We will start with 4 weeks in September, and hopefully build this into a regular class. Students are able to sign up for single classes, however, we are requiring a deposit upon sign-up.

September 8, 15, 22, 29
5:30 - 8:30 pm

*We have updated the beginner supplies list to add a few more paints. Everything else is the same as Beginner I.

SUPPLIES LIST

$45 Class fee each session. ($20 deposit required upon sign-up)
Students may also pay in full at sign-up.

Cancellation policy: If you need to cancel your class due to unforeseen circumstances, please do so at least 48 hours before the start of class. Students who cancel their class less than 48 hours from the start time will not have their deposit returned.

If for some reason the instructor cancels the class series, refunds will be made in full. If a single class needs to be rescheduled, for example due to inclement weather, we will give credit to anyone who cannot make it to the new date, though we will try to work with everyone’s schedule.

Virtual Watercolor on Zoom: Moving to Thursdays at 2pm starting in September.

This is a change we have to make to keep our teaching schedule more concise. I apologize if this inconveniences any of our virtual students, please remember that if you sign-up and cannot make it to the live, you will still get the recording and photo.

Saturday Watercolor Class - Cancelled

We will be discontinuing Saturday classes in the Fall as we reorganize our schedule. Again, we apologize if this inconveniences anyone, we invite you all to join our other studio classes Tuesdays and Friday. If classes in Fall/Winter are heavily attended we may consider reinstating another class.

Tuesday 10-1 Class - No changes

Watercolor Basics (ZOOM)

In this class students will learn the fundamentals of painting in watercolor and how to use supplies to achieve desired effects. This three-part series covers the following topics.

1 - Supplies overview, and Basic washes which includes wet-on-wet, glazing, values and brush techniques.
2 - Color Triad & Color Mixing, where Betsy will explain the color triad and how to create endless variations from just a few basic colors. We will finish this class with a still-life painting of a lemon.
3 - The Hudson River Valley Landscape, where students will embark on painting a signature luminous landscape in Betsy’s wet-on-wet style.

Each session will be recorded and emailed to students at its conclusion. Students will receive a supply list via email prior to the start of the course. It can also be found on Betsy Jacaruso’s website.
